FASTag is India’s electronic toll-collection system. A small RFID tag is fixed to the vehicle’s windscreen. When the vehicle passes through a supported toll plaza, the toll charge is collected from the linked FASTag account or wallet.
The toll plaza’s reader scans the tag while the vehicle is moving through the lane. The amount is deducted from the linked balance, and users can receive transaction or low-balance alerts.
For a bank-issued FASTag, recharge it through the issuer bank’s app or website. Depending on the issuer, recharge options can include UPI, net banking, debit card and credit card. NHAI FASTag users can also use the My FASTag app or the IHMCL portal where applicable.
Use the official NETC FASTag-status page and enter the vehicle details. This can help identify multiple active tags linked to a vehicle.
IHMCL says one vehicle should have only one active FASTag. If KYC is incomplete, the issuer or IHMCL may notify you through registered SMS, email or its app/portal. Follow the instructions from the issuer or official IHMCL service to update it.
For National Highways assistance, IHMCL lists the 1033 helpline for NHAI FASTag users.
