Estimate PPF corpus using notified contribution limits and the Scheme’s monthly lowest-balance interest rule.
PPF interest is not a generic SIP. Under the Scheme, interest is calculated each month on the lowest balance between the close of the 5th and the end of the month, and credited at year-end.
Yearly deposits are assumed to be made on or before the 5th of April, so they earn interest for all twelve months of that financial year. Interest is credited at the end of each financial year.
The notified rate can change every quarter. This estimate holds the current versioned rate constant for the whole term.
