What is EPFO?

EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) administers EPF and pension for eligible salaried workers. Your UAN is the account number that follows you across jobs. Contributions are split between employee and employer; withdrawal rules depend on why you are taking the money out.

Passbook, KYC, and claims are on the EPFO member portal or UMANG. Your HR team cannot 'create a new PF' that ignores an existing UAN — they should link it.
