All-India bank holidays that do not move are 26 January (Republic Day), 15 August (Independence Day), and 2 October (Gandhi Jayanti). Most other bank holidays — including Diwali, regional festivals, and state foundation days — are notified by RBI / state bankers' associations and differ by state. Janooji will not invent a 2026 city-wise list.

NEFT and RTGS follow RBI holiday rules. UPI often still works on bank holidays; that does not mean every bank process does. Cheque clearing and some loan postings wait for the next working day.
