BGMI login failed, not opening or crashing: official fixes in order

Login failed

BGMI's Help Center says a login problem is caused by poor internet and suggests playing where the connection is stable. It lists these steps:

1. Make sure you have a stable internet connection (cellular or Wi-Fi).

2. Change your connection, from cellular to Wi-Fi or back.

3. Make sure your account is not banned.

4. Log out, exit the game, clear some storage on the device and log in again.

5. Tap the Repair button on the right side of the login page.

6. Download and install the game again.

Step 4 asks you to log out. BGMI's lag article warns that a guest player who logs out may lose character progress, so check how your account is logged in before you do it.

The game crashes or will not open

The Help Center says crashes are usually due to internal storage issues. Its steps:

1. Exit the game, free up some memory on the device and restart the game.

2. Uninstall some apps you do not need to free up internal storage.

3. Make sure your device meets the minimum system and RAM requirements.

4. Tap the Repair button on the right side of the login screen.

5. Download and install the game again.

Black or blurred screen

For a black or blurred rendering problem the Help Center has a separate article: close and restart the game, repair the game before logging in with the Repair button on the login screen, choose the third option to delete the map where the problem happened, then reopen the game and download that map again.

What a device ban means

The Help Center says that once a device is identified as being used for malicious purposes, it can no longer log in to or create any game account, and that all devices used to violate the rules are banned permanently, with no lifting of the ban. If your account itself can be used normally, you can log in to it on another device. The Help Center answers the question about a banned device and your account directly: the account is not affected if it can still be used.

Before you uninstall anything

Reinstalling is the last step on purpose. If you play as a guest, bind a login first, because a guest account that logs out may lose its character progress.

If nothing works

Every article ends by telling you to contact BGMI support if the problem continues. When you do, give the error message, the phone model, how much storage is free and whether the problem happens on both Wi-Fi and mobile data.
