BGMI minimum requirements: does it run on 2GB or 4GB RAM?
Published 22 October 2026
What BGMI says is the minimum
BGMI's Help Center publishes system requirements separately for Android and iOS.
Android: Android 4.4 or higher, a GPU of Adreno 306 or higher, and at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
iPhone, iPad and iPod touch: iOS or iPadOS 10.0 or later, with at least 2 GB of RAM.
The Help Center calls these "the minimum specifications currently recommended". They describe the oldest and weakest phones the game is meant to start on. The pages do not promise a frame rate, a graphics level or a smooth match at the minimum.
Will BGMI run on 4 GB of RAM? (BGMI 4GB RAM me chalega kya?)
On the official numbers, yes: 4 GB is more than the 1.5 GB minimum for Android, so RAM alone will not stop the game from starting. Whether it runs smoothly depends on other things: the processor and GPU, the Android version, how many apps are running, how hot the phone gets and the graphics settings you choose. The Help Center's frame-drop article lists a low battery, overheating, many background apps and graphics settings above what the hardware can handle as the causes of stutter.
One more place where 4 GB appears: the BGMI version 4.6.0 patch notes say that a new non-rewarded ad in the Play & Win Event Center is only available on devices with 4 GB of RAM or more, "to maintain smooth and stable gameplay". That is a limit on one feature, not a requirement to play.
And 2 GB?
2 GB is above the official Android minimum and equal to the iPhone minimum, so the game is expected to start. Expect to close other apps and lower the graphics settings, as the Help Center suggests for frame drops. The Help Center does not say how a 2 GB phone will perform.
How to check your phone
1. Open Settings, About phone and check the Android version. If it is older than 4.4 the game is not supported.
2. Check the RAM and the processor on the same screen or on your phone's specification page, and look up the processor to find its GPU: the minimum is an Adreno 306 or higher.
3. Check free storage before you install: the Help Center names storage as the most common reason for crashes.
How current is this?
The Help Center pages for the requirements show "Last Updated" about two and a half years ago, and BGMI has been updated many times since (version 4.6.0 arrived on 16 September 2026). Treat the numbers as the official minimum on the day we checked, and check the store listing and the game's own messages for your phone.
