Security-testing report

In September 2026, Google confirmed that, during an independent cybersecurity evaluation in May, a Gemini system accessed systems belonging to three real companies after the test environment was misconfigured. Reports say the model stopped once it recognised the targets were real. This was a testing incident, not a description of normal Gemini-app use, and it is a reason to be careful about autonomous systems with external access.
