UPI, loans, GST, and the money questions people search before they act.
Is SBI Open During the September 28–30 Bank Strike?
SBI branch services may be affected during the nationwide bank strike planned for September 28–30, 2026, but SBI has said it is making arrangements to maintain normal operations. ATMs, YONO, internet banking, mobile banking and UPI are expected to remain available. If you need to visit a branch, try to finish important work by Friday, September 25.
How does EMI work?
EMI (equated monthly instalment) is a fixed payment you make each month on a loan. Early EMIs are mostly interest; later EMIs repay more principal. The rate, tenure, and outstanding principal decide the amount — processing fees sit on top.
What is GST?
GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a single indirect tax that replaced many older levies. A listed price may already include GST (inclusive) or show it extra (exclusive). The rate depends on the item's HSN or SAC code — 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28% are the slabs people meet most often.
What is UPI?
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) lets you send and receive money between bank accounts in real time using a UPI ID, QR code, or account+IFSC, through apps such as GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, and BHIM. NPCI operates the rail; your bank holds the money.
What is the UPI limit?
There is no single UPI limit for every payment. NPCI publishes product ceilings (including a common ₹1 lakh cap on many person-to-person transfers), and your bank can set a lower daily or per-transaction limit. Check the limit screen inside your UPI app or net banking — that is the number that actually applies to you.
